Easy Flip Folio

Hi All--I have been seeing so many flip folios and junk journals in social media that I thought I would offer a quick tutorial in case you want to create one yourself. Supplies: 3 sheets of 11x17 cardstock (I got some from Amazon), your bone folder, paper trimmer, scoreboard if you have one, double stick tape and the designer papers or cardstock you wish to use to decorate your folio. I haven't finished mine yet since I've been swamped with special orders from my shop, but I will come back and post those photos when I'm finished. So here are the 12 steps to your own flip folio! Sheet One Step 1) fold into thirds by scoring at 5 and 5/8 inches Step 2) fold at score lines. cut off the bottom inch of your folio. This forms the base. Sheet 2 Step 4) Cut into 3 sections of 5.5 x 11 inches Step 5) take one sheet, cut off 1.5 inch on the short side, score a half inch flap opposite of that (and apply double stick tape to it) leaving you with a sheet measuring 9x5.5 Step 6) take 1 ...

Easter Sunday Funday Bunny Pallet Shape Home Decor Hello all--It's Kelly here with you again today. I'm back! 🙂 This month I am featuring a wood pallet shape, and I was lucky to get a bunny. (See all of the pallet offerings  here .) Isn't he adorable just in the silhouette? And I don't know about you, but when Easter falls early, I keep my decorations out the whole month of April too. So, if you are the kind who likes to do a seasonal project, Clear Scraps always has the perfect item, and the various sizes means you can get just the right one. Find your own bunny via Product Code: CSWSLMEDBUNNY or this guy:  medium pallet bunny   He's the medium bunny DIY wood pallet shape. And due to the sturdy nature of the wood, I decided to do a button project. I like to do these occasionally and they make great seasonal decor. I always get compliments when I feature them in my home. The wood is definitely strong enough to take the weight, and I think the size is just right. I ...
Mother's Day Basket of Flowers Hello crafty peeps! It's CraftyScrapsByKel with you here again today. I truly debated internally about what project to do this month because I had several goodies left in my ClearScraps basket...and even though we passed Easter, I did really love the basket chip shape that I received. I love to send Mom flowers on Mother's Day, but we all know that the enjoyment time on those is limited. So I thought maybe a little mixed media project this year could be just what I needed to use this shape. And please bear with me because I just dabble in many things--pick up paints and mists when they are on sale and play. I'm no expert in mixed media, it's more like a craft science project. ☺️ I have a hypothesis I'm working toward--let's see if my experiment works! I started with my basket shape and an older simple set from Simple Stories aptly titled "Hey Mom". I also had a bunch of petite blooms in my stash, and I decided that th...
Sweet Symphony Wide Scallop Mini Album Hello All, Kelly here with my very first post. I hope I get it all just right, but if I don’t please comment and let me know! I don’t know about you, but I love the minis. They are my favorite project to work on…primarily because I can capture an event or a trip in a small package. I often use them as part of my seasonal décor. It’s fun to trot out a themed mini on my coffee table because friends and family pick it up to skip through it. So for today’s project, I’m using the  wide scallop album , which is such an adorable size! Since the album measures 3x8 inches, an 8x8 pad is just perfect for this project. I had saved this one for just the right project. So, I started by finding alternating pages with blush and black, I love that layered look in the waterfall of the scallop. I then traced and cut the bases with my trusty Fiskars and cutter bee scissors. Then once I have my pages cut, I plan and play with them before gluing. This is work at a...
